Gestating Baby
Gestating Baby is a semi-regular series of split bill performances that presents new and unpredictable works across the spectrum of theatrical performing arts. It began in 2013 at The Silent Barn and is now revived at The Brick in Brooklyn, NY.
Featuring Two New Works:
blue curfew by WILD DREAM and PRISONCORE! by kanishk pandey
blue curfew by WILD DREAM Directed by Tamara Leigh and Nikki Theroux
blue curfew is a contemporary dance theater piece that explores the different personas we take on in private and various public settings. The work investigates the necessity of having spaces where we can fully explore our identities and be seen for who we really are. It ranges from gentle introspection, into a more chaotic exploration of club creatures and embracing fantasy.
Performers: Tamara Leigh, Nicole Leung, Louisa Miller, Sumayyah Smith, Nikki Theroux, and Mamiko Usude
PRISONCORE! By kanishk pandey
PRISONCORE!: A multimedia show that places the audience within a panopticon to examine the impact of an-always-watching eye. Focusing on the interaction between two characters, Lucky, the sole guard of the panopticon prison, and Rain, a VTuber running a blackjack table online, the show touches on aspects of unrelenting observation, power, and helplessness.
